Position: Estimator

Work Hours: Full-Time: 1st shift 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Mon-Fri

Job Description: The Estimator is responsible for quoting jobs for current and new customers, for a precision sheet metal fabricating company. Job will include estimating labor and materials required to successfully and profitably manufacture sheet metal fabricated parts, including sheet metal enclosures, shelving, powder coating, assemblies, and special projects. This is a multiple task, deadline based environment with a requirement for speed and accuracy, therefore flexibility is necessary to maintain multiple projects as well as re-evaluate and change priorities quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating for the metal fabrication industry, and preferably some hands on metal fabrication experience.

Job Responsibilities:

    * Become familiar with all manufacturing processes in the plant, and maintain current knowledge to ensure accurate quoting is performed.
    * Evaluate the scope of work from customers’ drawings, samples, specifications, notes and RFQ’s.
    * Determine estimated part layout, type and number of primary and secondary operations and methods required to produce a part in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
    * Price materials – using internal records when available, and sourcing/contacting new & existing vendors and sub-contractors.
    * Estimate labor and material cost of parts including packaging, sub-contracting, powder coating, and delivery.
    * Determine required tooling type and cost.
    * Create Bill of Material and Shop Routing documents.
    * Interact with clients’ buyers and engineers via email, phone, and in person.
    * Create estimate in E2 Shoptech software.
    * Review estimates for accuracy and completeness, and submit to client.
    * Requote as needed for changes in labor cost, raw material cost, equipment changes, or quantity changes.
    * Retrieve drawing files from internal server, Email, or clients’ ftp site.
    * Occasional Travel to customer or supplier location as needed.

Job Requirements:

    * Understanding of manufacturing fundamentals, and geometric dimensioning & tolerances.
    * At least one year experience estimating for sheet metal fabrication, powder coating, and assembly with low to high volume in a high mix environment.
    * Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets, ability to create simple formulas.
    * Ability to use Microsoft Windows including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    * Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, ratios.
    * Ability to use calipers, tape measures, other measuring tools in English and Metric measurements.
    * Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    * Ability to communicate with customers, vendors and co-workers in a professional capacity.
    * Ability to read/interpret drawings including the ability to view and understand drawings and 3D models in Solid Works.
    * Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs in office or shop.
    * Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, balancing, talking, hearing and reaching.
    * Willingness to perform tasks outside core responsibilities when necessary.

Position: Production Supervisor

Work Hours: Full-Time: 1st shift, Salary, $60,000 plus benefits

Job Description: This position requires Sheet Metal Fabrication and Job Shop experience in a fast paced environment. This is a multiple task, deadline based environment, therefore flexibility is necessary to maintain multiple projects, as well as re-evaluate and change priorities quickly and efficiently. The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing all production personnel, with the goal of efficient, accurate production in a short lead time. Experience with these operations is helpful: CNC Turret Punch Press, CNC Laser, CNC Press Brake, Welding, CNC Machining, Powder Coating, Assembly.

Duties include supervising production by:

    • Directing daily production meetings.
    • Directing the flow of materials to the proper machine or department, and through to completion.
    • Supervising work force of over 25, including Welders, Grinders, Machinists, Machine Operators, Sheet Metal Fabricators, Painters, Assembly personnel, Shipping and Receiving and Maintenance.
    • Studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes and improvements.
    • Enforcing quality standards.
    • Modeling and Enforcing company standards.
    • Participating in production staff hiring process.
    • Evaluating and counseling production personnel.
    • Reporting personnel issues and counseling to HR.
    • Requisitioning needed building and equipment repairs from Purchasing.

Position: Supervisor – 2nd shift for Sheet Metal Fabrication. Hourly.

Work Hours: Full-Time: Monday through Friday 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., some overtime required

Job Description: This position requires Sheet Metal Fabrication and Job Shop experience in a fast paced environment.

The Supervisor is responsible for managing all 2nd shift production personnel, with the goal of efficient, accurate production in a short lead time. Experience with these operations is helpful: CNC Turret Punch Press, CNC Laser, CNC Press Brake, Welding, CNC Machining, & Assembly. We have a terrific team of skilled and motivated sheet metal mechanics, machine operators, welders, and laborers, that will only continue to grow and get better with the direction of a great Supervisor.

Position reports directly to the daytime Production Supervisor and will include responsibilities in production control, inventory, shipping, and customer service, and will work closely with personnel in manufacturing and engineering. This is a multiple task, deadline based environment with a requirement for speed and accuracy, therefore flexibility is necessary to maintain multiple projects as well as re-evaluate and change priorities quickly and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Under the direction of daytime Production Supervisor, direct workflow to coincide with customer demands. Follow up during shift to ensure that instructions are followed, and deadlines will be met. Adjust the workflow as priorities may require.
    • Directs flow of materials to the proper machine or department, and through to completion.
    • Daily communication with Production Supervisor, area Lead personnel, and possibly customer(s), in person, via phone and email.
    • Represent our company in a professional and positive manner.
    • Discuss questions, problems and discrepancies with production employees or engineers; resolve problems and questions.
    • Monitor production – locate and note location of multiple work orders and projects on the plant floor, using ipad or tablet.
    • Enforce quality standards.
    • Supervise work force of approximately 12 production employees.
    • Evaluate and counsel production personnel.
    • Review, understand, and update reports using Excel and manufacturing software.
    • Perform regular inventory of finished products and products in process.
    • Assist in preparing finished goods for shipping as needed. Supervise or participate in loading and unloading delivery trucks on occasion.

Position: Assembly/Powder Coating Line load-unload

Work Wages: Starts at $9-10 an hour with potential for more! Hourly $9-$12 per hour Full Time 1 Year Minimum Experience Preferred

Job Description: Entry level – Prior experience in assembly, powder coating line, production work, manufacturing machine operation, or sheet metal work is required. The ability to read a basic blueprint is helpful but not required.

Duties:

    • Load and Unload Powder Coating Conveyor Line of sheet metal fabricated parts.
    • Assembles parts using hand tools.
    • Packages finished parts.
    • Produce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficiently.
    • Inspect for quality during production.
    • Follow company procedures and safety rules.
    • Pre hang hooks, or parts on hooks, on conveyor line, counting hook spaces.
    • Stage parts near powder line to be hung, according to location on sequence board (sorted by color and material type, etc.).
    • Installing nuts and bolts using hand or hand tools.
    • Apply masking tape, rubber plugs & caps to sheet metal parts, hardware and holes prior to parts being powder coated. Removing caps, plugs & tape after coating has been done.
    • Label parts using labeling gun or handwritten label.
    • Count parts for finishing and packaging.
    • Organize and maintain assembly hardware storage area. (collecting unused hardware and sorting back into correct bin) .
    • Organize and maintain powder coating line hooks. (collecting used hooks and sorting back into correct area by size).
    • Moving pallets with pallet jack.
    • Inventorying raw materials on shelves, boxes, and bins.

Requirements:

Job Duties Include:

    • Produce sheet metal parts by setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) Laser
    • Machine set up including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, lens cleaning and adjustments, etc
    • Start up and shut down laser machines
    • Edit G code
    • Check accuracy of work using blueprint and precision measuring tools
    • Work from blueprints, rough sketches, and customer samples
    • Inspect, clean, calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on machines
    • Continuously monitor machine cutting performance and efficiency adjusting as needed
    • Read material tags & work orders, selecting correct materials
    • Locate and move raw material with pallet jack or forklift
    • Count and record daily production activity
    • Separate cut parts from scrap
    • Be comfortable working in fast paced environment
    • Works well with engineering
    • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs throughout the shift
    • Experience on both short runs and longer production runs preferred, multiple set ups per shift

Position: Maintenance (Building and Equipment)

Work Hours: $13-19 Hourly negotiable, Full Time, 3-5 Years Minimum Experience Required. More than 5 years experience & experience with our equipment, hourly rate can be higher.

Job Duties Include:

    • Maintain and repair a variety of plant production equipment such as CNC Turret Punch Presses, CNC Lasers, CNC Panel Benders, belt sanders, grinders, Welding machines, ovens, powder coating equipment, specialized machinery involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic functions.
    • Install and relocate plant equipment, lay out conduit, water and air lines, pull and terminate wires, make necessary connections and balance electrical power supply.
    • Diagnose the nature of a problem, disassemble equipment, replace worn or defective parts and components such as motors, bearings, shafts and belts, rebuild unit, test operation and make final adjustment.
    • Monitor, maintain and service compressor and dust collection equipment.
    • Maintain and repair building, inspect and service electric controls and replace defective components as necessary.
    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities throughout the plant as required, oil and lubricate equipment and change fluid and filters as required.
    • Fabricate parts as needed for repairs as feasible.

Position: Mig Welder

Work Hours: Full-Time: 1st & 2nd Shifts – $10-$16 per hour

Job Requirement: 3-5 Years Minimum Experience Required. With more than 5 years experience in a sheet metal contract manufacturing/job shop environment, higher pay is negotiable. A Mig Welder will Fit and Weld sheet metal parts to the specifications of each job, and ensure they meet the outlined requirements. Specifications are gathered from work orders, customer drawings, sample parts, and/or completed assemblies.

Job Duties Include:

    • Welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
    • Examining work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with calipers, straightedges, templates, etc., to ensure conformance with specifications
    • Welding separately or in combination, using steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other alloys;
    • Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, grinding or bolting component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding;
    • Determining appropriate welding technique;
    • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance;
    • Produce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficiently.
